How can I get funded?
Our funding cycle runs once a year. Singularity considers new ventures on a rolling basis. Inquiries and applications are welcomed all year round. Just keep your eyes out for key dates.

Do I need a business plan?
A formal business plan is not required in our application. Singularity makes funding decisions based on an evaluation of the company as a whole, not a few pages of paper. We do require, however, a demonstrable proof-of-concept and reputable references are highly encouraged. Everything else, we'll get from meeting you face to face!
Will you agree to an NDA?
No. Ideas without a team, vision, sacrifice, strategy and adequate & relevant resources is not valuable to us, or to any other venture capitalist for that matter.
Many seed stage startups hold the erroneous belief that their idea is singular and unique, that no other company exists that is also tackling this critical, societal pain point. We believe value derives from utility.
Do I need a team to apply?
Singularity considers all applications with a demonstrable proof-of-concept, regardless of team size and composition. That said, we strongly recommend companies to have progressed sufficiently beyond the "idealization" stage to be ready to go to market, if not already there.
We will not consider individuals with merely an idea. Singularity does not assist in assembling technical teams with the skills to prove a concept. That's your job!
How much does Singularity invest?
Our typical investment ranges from US$10,000 to US$250,000 in return for 5% to 20% of equity in the company, but this is only a reference. We have invested as much as US$500,000 and as little as US$5,000 into companies. Each company is unique and the resource requirements usually extend beyond funding. Singularity assesses ventures individually and extends an offer based both on need and potential.
Do you invest in specific sectors and countries?
No. Singularity accepts applications from all sectors operating in any region(s) with the condition that the company is leveraging on technology(ies) to reinforce its competitive advantage. Our resources extend globally. We have particularly strong networks, expertise and capabilities in Great China, Korea, the US, UK and France.
What companies have you invested in?
Singularity is invested in companies and startups in hospitality, media, information technology, healthcare and new energies in China, Europe and the US.
What's your exit strategy? Do you invest beyond seed stage?
We are focused in seed stage investing. On a case by case basis, Singularity has invested in more mature companies although that is not our mission. When our portfolio company reaches a stage of development beyond our capabilities to provide valuable and worthwhile support, it's time to move on and up. Management buy-out, M&A, larger PEs and VCs are all possible and decided with each company, independently. To help you along, Singularity has a built up a great network of partner PE and VC firms that, if the match is right, could transition your company into the next stage(s) with a healthy head start.
